It’s only been a year since Kim Zolciak’s million dollar wedding to the Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann, but a lot has changed in the newlyweds’ life. This season, their family grows even bigger with the addition of a fourth child, Kash Kade, they’re working on remodeling their new home, and Kroy and his team are enjoying an extremely successful football season with the hopes of making it to the Super Bowl. But as everyone knows, the path to success isn’t without some bumps in the road. The Biermanns are living in tight quarters in Kim’s old townhouse, impatient for the seemingly endless construction to finish; Kim’s daughters, who’ve had their mother all to themselves for most of their lives, now have to share her with their young siblings. To make matters worse, Kim’s parents, who haven’t spoken to their daughter since Kim kicked them out of her wedding, are dragging her to court for visitation with their granddaughters. Kim refuses to let any of this bring down her spirits because as she says, “Just ask, believe and receive.” Aside from that drama, Kim, has every reason to be happy, last week “Don’t Be Tardy…” premiered with 1,157,000 tuning in for last Tuesday's thirty minute premiere. Even more people watched the second thirty minute installment that aired immediately following the premiere. That second episode brought 1,259,000 viewers.

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How does it feel to have such great ratings for your season premiere of “Don’t Be Tardy…”?

Kim Zolciak: “I was so excited about the ratings, I was beyond excited! The hour before the show aired and I saw everyone tweeting their support for me, all my friends, my fans, and different housewives…I was in my hotel room and almost moved to tears because of the support. I was so thankful for everyone’s support, it meant so much to me and Kroy.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Also, you recently celebrated over 600,000 Twitter followers, anything that you would like to say to your fans?

Kim Zolciak: “They are the best! They keep me laughing…some, I’d like to smack the shit out of (laughs), but the majority of my followers are awesome and keep me in the loop of what’s going on online about me whether it’s an article that comes out about me or whatever…I love to interact with them during the day, post pictures of the kids, I just got an Instagram because I just got an iPhone two months ago, so that helps keep me connected with them and answer their questions as much as I possibly can.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What are three adjectives to describe this season?

Kim Zolciak: “Fun…Heartwarming, starting with Kash’s delivery…& chaotic, when you have four kids, families, football season for Kroy, it becomes chaos, and what you see is what you get with us. I am who I am, I don’t know how to strategically plan to try to make myself look better on television, I’m just me­­­­­...obviously I made many mistakes, but I try to learn from them and keep moving.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What do you think will shock viewers the most this season?

Kim Zolciak: “I can’t give that away (laughs), you’re just going to have to watch and see, but I think that there are a couple of shocking moments this season.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What moment are you most looking to see this season?

Kim Zolciak: “I was excited to see Kash’s birth, he’s now 8 months old, and so to see that was great. There are so many more moments to come this season, and I’m really excited about those moments. There’s one moment in particular, that is simply amazing!”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Has it gotten harder to film as the years went on or is it easier as compared to when you first started on Real Housewives of Atlanta?

Kim Zolciak: “I think the only hard part for me from when I started Housewives of Atlanta up until the point when I left was that my girls were older when I started Housewives, they were 5 and 10 years old. Now, having a new born baby and trying to film got a bit challenging, because I don’t like leaving the baby at home for too long, as compared to the girls when we first started out, they can tell me that they’re hungry and I can make them something to eat…but now, I have to rely on someone to help me with K.J. and or Kash, when I’m filming and that has been really hard for me to do. I think that is one of the reasons why I left Housewives of Atlanta, so I can take care of my own family, because that’s where my priority lies. That’s what I meant at the reunion to Kandi,that nannies aren’t raising my children, I have to have nannies in order to work, but they don’t raise my children…I’m home monitoring everything that is going on.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): You recently reconciled with NeNe, how was it for you two to just move on?

Kim Zolciak: “It is great, we have a history together and I started this journey of Housewives with her and, so it’s a great feeling. I never let the negativity weigh me down, but it still weighed heavy in my heart, and to be at peace with the situation now is such a good feeling…she makes me laugh so hard (laughs).You have to forgive and move on, that’s the key to ultimate happiness in life. People make mistakes and say dumb things, myself included, but you have to put the past behind you and focus on the future.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): What advice would you give to NeNe for her new show?

Kim Zolciak: “She doesn’t need any advice, she has got this covered!”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Will you attend her wedding?

Kim Zolciak: “Yes, of course I will be there! I love her husband throughout the last five years of Housewives, that man has always been so sweet! I don’t care what NeNe and I have gone through, he has always given me a hug and spoke to me when he saw me, and I know that they are a perfect match and I will be there happy as hell.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Things got heated between you and Kandi at the reunion, what are your thoughts and feelings about the situation now and do you think you can make up with her?

Kim Zolciak: “No, NeNe and I have said nasty things about each other and had arguments, and even though we’ve had all these things, we never hit below the belt. Bringing in the legal system and to do something like this after three and a half years of the song being out…you know my phone number and I don’t know what made you do that before the reunion, it doesn’t make sense, and nevertheless hire Phaedra as your lawyer. I will never understand, and I in fact have actually overpaid Kandi…I do the right thing in my life, when I lay my head down at night, I try to do the right thing day in and day out, even if it’s money out of my pocket or if it bothers me to do it, I try to live my life by doing right by others. I think that my life proves that, I have an incredible husband, four healthy children, and that’s my whole motto of ask, believe, and receive. When you bring in the legal system and hit below the belt like this, there is no point of return…I don’t understand how you can do that. I was also very upset with her when I left Housewives, in my last scene because she was just being shady to me…in my mind I’m just done…to me it was just a stupid strategic move and my lawyers will handle it. In my heart as mad as she made me, I still want her show to do well in the ratings, and it’s a lot different when you’re on with a cast and then you go out and do your own show, people will either hate it or love it.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Has Kroy ever reached a point where he thinks too much is enough with the cameras?

Kim Zolciak: “Not at all, our lives are an open book…our production is here and I’ve known one of them for five years, Jen Morton and she basically ran the show and she’s a friend. There are painful moments this season, but my husband is very supportive. Our life is what it is, people may not agree, for example I curse a lot or whatever it is, but that’s just me. It’s just very easy that way to be natural instead of trying to be something else…I’m not a southern belle honey (laughs)!”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Were you ever concerned that the cameras might impact your marriage, after seeing what happened to Bethenny Frankel when she did a season 2 of her show?

Kim Zolciak: “Absolutely not…I’m not Bethenny and Bethenny is not Kim. She is definitely successful in her own right and things happen, but for me I definitely met my match and in any point in my marriage that I thought the cameras were damaging to my marriage or hindering it, I would not do it.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): How are your children?

Kim Zolciak: “They are so amazing! Brielle just got her license, so I’ve been a crying mother over here, she has had it for about a month and I let her drive for the first time, to our new house and I drove behind her the whole time. I’m having a hard time letting go, this is one of the hardest things I had to do in my life, letting her grow up. These past 16 years went by overnight…Ariana is mommy’s little helper, she’s incredible with the babies. K.J. will be two next month, he is just talking up a storm, and baby Kash is just the perfect child, he is happy and the easiest baby ever and always smiling.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): When will fans be able to the finish product of your new dream home?

Kim Zolciak: “They will just have to wait and see.”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Message for your haters?

Kim Zolciak: “I try not to entertain the haters, because I feel like if you spend more time on the negative than the positive, what good does that do you? To my haters, just remember that it’s mind over matter, I don’t mind and you don’t matter!”

Examiner (Anthony Bowles): Lastly, what new things can your fans expect from you in the future?

Kim Zolciak: “As the season goes on, I’m really busy with my husband with football season, building our house, having the new baby, and trying to get through those things. I would love to expand my wine line and do Chardonnay’s and more of the wines that I prefer…I do have my book coming out that I’ve been working on…and my wig line, I have been working on it for so long, because I want it perfect for my fans, so they can get a great product for a reasonable price…In terms of music, I know I’m not the best singer, and I had fun with it, I just always wanted to be a one hit wonder, and I got that and loved every minute of it, and just thankful for it.”

Missed having Kim Zolciak around on this latest season of Real Housewives of Atlanta? Yeah, me too. But good news: She's back on Bravo with her second season of Don't Be Tardy...! The show premiered last night, and if you haven't seen it yet, I suggest catching up before next week's episode because life with Kim is cray (but in a good way). She stopped by Glamour with her husband, Kroy Biermann—for the record, they are the cutest couple. Holding hands, loving looks...you can tell they really care about each other—and shared with us what to expect this season.

How are the kids?
Kim: Baby Kash opens the first episode. It’s so precious, and wait until you see KJ because he is two now, which is crazy, and he’s talking up a storm. And you get to see my girls—Brielle getting her license. I have yet to let her take her car and drive. I’m a nervous wreck. I make every excuse under the book. The only reason I let her get her license is because I remember when I was 16 and getting my license, and I was so excited. I made her wait another month. She drives with Kroy, not me. I’d say, "I’m pregnant, we can’t drive!" And then I had the baby, and I said, "I can drive the baby, but you can’t drive the baby and I." Now she’s like, "Mom. Seriously, it’s time." Nobody ever told me how hard it would be to let your daughter go at 16—to let her drive. And Atlanta's traffic and the highways? It makes me nauseous. It’s not so much her, I tell her, it’s everybody else. People don’t pay attention.

Will the drama with your parents come up on the show?
Kim: I have some drama with my parents, unfortunately, that comes up in the middle of filming, which is just so terrible. I always tell people that I’ve shared so much of my life in front of America—having babies, getting married, getting into arguments and screaming matches, and everything that’s been going on—but this part of my life is so painful. I never really thought it would be me. I think what my family begins to realize is that you’ve got to be very careful. My kids are obviously in the public eye, and they have social media. Back in the day, even six years ago with Housewives, something comes out, OK. My daughters didn’t have Twitter, so I could guard them. But now the stuff hits the press in 10 seconds. With my mom bashing me, it put my family in a bad place. And Brielle—people in school say stuff to her.

How do you handle the haters?
Kim: That’s the thing about people that I don’t understand. If people spend as much time doing something positive as they spend on the negative stuff, can you imagine what a better place this world would be? It takes so long to sit there and have that negative, nasty thought. I guess it’s the way the world is at this point. I get a little feisty [with mean commenters], and Kroy’s like, "Who cares?" We really work because he’s so calm, and I’m popping off all the time. When I was dating, people said, "You need somebody who is calm." And I was like, "Ah, but they’re so boring!" But he can be feisty if you mess with me or the kiddos. He’s got a few choice words for some of our neighbors. Don’t mess with the family.

You and NeNe are friends again. How did that happen?
Kim: I think time does heal all wounds. I’m one of the most forgiving people you’ll meet in your whole life. I don’t let sh-t weigh me down. That’s not me. I forgave NeNe in my mind, but we never really had the chance or took the time to talk or communicate. What happened in the beginning of season one, and the seasons thereafter, was a lot of he-said, she-said, and then you have production in the middle of it. There’s so much chaos going on. NeNe and I are the kind of people that if Sheree said something, for example, to NeNe, like "Kim said THIS about you," She’d be like, "OK, f-ck her," and she wouldn't respond to me, and we'd stop talking. That happened a lot. Then, when you’re forced to be in a situation or a room with somebody, it was even worse. Finally, at the reunion we just were able to talk about things. I gave her a hug, then we texted back and forth, and then shortly thereafter we talked. We just basically let the past be the past and moved on. She always wanted to be in Hollywood; I always wanted my own show and more kids, so it’s like I have everything I can dream of and so does she. Even at the reunion, I knew deep down she was really happy for me because I’m really happy for her too. I was friends with her years before RHOA. I think sometimes when you are just your average Joe, and all of a sudden this show blows up, you’re thrown into the spotlight and caught off guard. You’ve got to come back down and realize who the people were in your life prior to this. She says too that it’s hard to find good friends in this business. I don’t know, maybe we’ll do our own show together one day.

That would be amazing.
Kim: Her husband and I have always gotten along nice. NeNe and I could’ve gotten into a fight, and he’d still be like, "Hey, Kim!" I still want to ask her though, "What have I ever done to you?" I think someday we’ll have a conversation on who said what. And she is hysterical. My stomach really hurts when I’m around her.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kim Zolciak has had no problem putting her personal life — birth, wigs, catfights and all — on television. But for the first time, she's nervous about airing a very emotional battle she's having at home.

"I am not speaking to my parents," she tells TVGuide.com. "I've shared a lot of my life in front of the cameras ... and this is the first situation I've had to deal with publicly that is too close to home."

On the season premiere of Don't Be Tardy... (Tues, 9/8c on Bravo), viewers will learn why Zolciak still hasn't spoken to her mom since their argument at her wedding. But despite intense fight with her parents, Zolciak promises plenty of laughs as she and husband Kroy Biermann welcome baby boy Kash Kade into a family that also consists of 14-month-old KJ and Kim's two daughters from a previous marriage, 16-year-old Brielle and 11-year-old Ariana. Plus: What does the outspoken blonde tell us she wishes she had said on Sunday night's Housewives reunion?

Your Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion interview just aired. How do you think it went?
Kim Zolciak: It ended great. I was a bit teary-eyed [after NeNe and I hugged] and I sent her a text message when I walked out to the car. So, I'm pleased and really happy with that, and I can't say that I won't return.

Is there anything you didn't get to say?
Zolciak: I really wish I could've had a conversation with Kandi regarding the lawsuit that she filed the day before and that I could've confronted. It's so dumb and pointless and there's a motive behind [it] to drum up publicity for her new show. That's why it's a publicity stunt and nothing short of that in my mind.

Moving on to the premiere of Don't Be Tardy..., people say the first year of marriage is the toughest. Was that true for you and Kroy?
Zolciak: I would not say that's the case at all. Kroy and I just balance each other out. I know people say they have the perfect marriage, but I feel like Kroy and I are a perfect match. I'm feisty, he's calming, and it works. I've been with Kroy for three years and I've had two babies. [Even] with all the pregnancy hormones, he's just a chill person. Thankfully we haven't had any issues.

Have you learned anything new about him since last season?
Zolciak: He has a lot of patience, which I guess I always knew. But I had Kash when he was in football camp and he had to leave while I was at the hospital and go play a football game. And then he dropped me off with the baby at home, and then [went] back to camp. So he's just a hard worker. When I had KJ, it was during the NFL lockout so I didn't really see him having to juggle football and the baby. He's a motor that doesn't stop.

The premiere shows him working with Ariana on a school project. Did you expect him to be such a hands-on dad?
Zolciak: When I first met Kroy, he loved kids and being around kids, and we never had a date by ourselves for the first four months. So, he was great to them from the very beginning. It could be hard for someone to fall in love with a mom and her kids as well, but he was painting Ariana's nails, which I think is so cute, and they paint his nails and he lets them. I'm really truly blessed.

Is there anything you're not looking forward to showing this season?
Zolciak: I'm nervous because there are a few moments where I'm really upset over what I'm going through with my parents. It's just heartbreaking, it's painful and it's still so fresh. It's hard because I've shared a lot of my life in front of the cameras. I've had babies, I've gotten married, I met my husband and this is the first situation I've had to deal with publicly that is too close to home. I never thought it would be me having this issue with my own parents. It's hard for me to even talk about it.

Now that your girls are older, is there ever a time that they want the show to end?
Zolciak: They knew on Real Housewives of Atlanta that it had gotten pretty intense. I was having blood pressure problems and that day I left [the show], I was hysterical. So they were like, "Mommy please don't do the show anymore. It's not worth it." But other than that they have fun. If they don't want to film, they don't. School comes first, their extracurricular activities come first. But they enjoy this. They're supportive, and they know this is my job.

What happens after the million-dollar wedding?

That's what viewers will find out when Kim Zolciak's Bravo series Don’t Be Tardy … premieres with back-to-back episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

It's been a year since the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star married Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann, and the couple's family is expanding with the addition of a fourth child (the show has been renamed from Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding).


Zolciak tells The Hollywood Reporter that this season will focus on her efforts to balance her to her family -- which also includes a toddler son and 11- and 16-year-old daughters -- with their stress over remodeling a new home while living in a cramped townhouse.

"There are definitely a lot of big moments," she teases. "I don't want to give too much away, but there's some really exciting stuff that happens to our family."

But she also admits that there are also some "painful" moments involving her parents, who haven’t spoken to their daughter since she kicked them out of her wedding but are now dragging her to court for visitation with their granddaughters. In addition, she finds out that her mom is shopping a tell-all book behind her back.

"This season, people will get to see more inside my life and the painful things," she says. "There are sometimes when you just don't want the cameras to see it. I'm a mom, and I can't relate [to what her own mother does]. The people you are supposed to be able to trust the most is your family, and when that trust is broken, it's painful."

Meanwhile, other story lines involve her oldest daughter getting her driver's license -- "that's huge to me; nobody told me how hard it would be to have to let go" -- and Kroy and his team's efforts at nearly making the Super Bowl last season.

And, notes the woman known for rarely being seen without one of her signature wigs, viewers will see her "wigless" this season.

"With these two babies, it's impossible -- I'm running around in sweats all day and no wig just trying to get through the day a lot, which is funny," she says. "It's a fun season. I think people will enjoy seeing a different side to me than planning a wedding."

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Kim Zolciak teams up with B 98.5 FM Morning Show host Vikki Locke for an exclusive lingerie event next month.
